What the "Quota check failed – Insufficient quota" error means

The "Quota check failed – Insufficient quota" error appears for several different reasons. Find the variant that matches the message you received.

"… /total bulk size does not fit subscription"

The order you placed is larger than the balance remaining on your account or contract. Retry with a smaller portion of the order.

If your plan uses monitoring credits

Check your remaining monitoring credits in your Planet account before retrying. Reducing the area you order, or clipping to your area of interest, reduces the credits an order consumes.

If your plan uses download quota (sq km)

Applies to plans bought before Planet moved to monitoring credits. Check the quota remaining on your account or contract before retrying.

If the balance shown does not look right, submit a request to Planet Support.

"… /subscriptions do not match all of the events"

The clipping geometry in your order does not intersect your contract area of interest. Your clip AOI needs to intersect 100% with the contract AOI.

This does not work — 0% intersection with the contract AOI:

Clip geometry with no intersection with the contract AOI

This does not work either — roughly 50% intersection:

Clip geometry partially intersecting the contract AOI

"… /parent subscriptions do not match all of the events"

A suborganisation’s plan has not been inherited properly, or the parent and suborganisation are on different types of allocation. Both need to be on the same plan and the same type of allocation, though the suborganisation’s can be smaller.

For help with this error, submit a request to Planet Support.
