Overview
Planet offers several Monitoring Credit plans. These plans fall into two broad categories, each built on a distinct business model:
- Planet Insights Platform packages — Insights Flex, Insights Premium, and Insights Reserved
- Agriculture bundles — quota-based plans built on the former AUM model
This article explains the key differences between these categories and how they apply to your workspace.
Planet Insights Platform Packages
Three packages currently exist under the Insights Platform business model:
- Insights Flex
- Insights Premium
- Insights Reserved
All three packages include basemaps. They differ primarily in:
- How the area of interest (AOI) is defined
- How usage and platform actions are billed
- Which data products are included

Agriculture Bundles
A separate business model exists for Agriculture customers. These plans are based on the former AUM (Area Under Management) model and follow a quota-consumption logic.

Workspace Rules
Each workspace can only be associated with one Monitoring Credit consumption style at a time — a workspace cannot mix an Insights Platform package with an Agriculture bundle, nor combine multiple Insights Platform packages.
If a workspace already has a product allocated to it, a different consumption style cannot be added to that same workspace. In this case, either:

- Create a new workspace and allocate the plan there
