Only polygons and multipolygons are supported.

Only polygons and multipolygons may be used to search for items. Lines, points, tracks, curves, or buffers are not yet supported.

GeoJSON files should adhere to the GeoJSON standard.

More information can be found here. There is limited support for projections inside of GeoJSON files based on the draft standard but it should be avoided.

Shapefile .PRJ files are honored.

If your shapefile has a .PRJ file it will be parsed and used to reproject your features for use in Explorer.

Zip files can include any other dataset.

Any zip file will be inspected for any supported file format including Shapefiles, GoeJSON, or KML.

Only one source is used at a time.

If multiple GeoJSON, Shapefiles, or KML files are uploaded at once then the first one in the list will be used to import features into Explorer.
