False-color indices visualizations are available only on Surface Reflectance Basemaps. Currently the following band combinations and indices available:

To add a WMTS layer to QGIS:
- Launch QGIS.
- Click on Open Data Source Manager icon, then add WMS/WMTS.
- In the "WMTS" dialog box, click New.
- Give the service a name in the Name Text Box.
- Insert the URL in the designated text box following the structure provided below for false-color visualization:
- Click OK. Click Connect.
- In the Browser pane, click WMS/WMTS.
- Click the WMTS service and drag and drop it onto the map view.
To add a WMTS layer to ArcGIS Pro:
- Launch ArcGIS Pro.
- Open the Connection drop-down list on the Insert tab.
- Click New WMTS Server to make a new connection.
- Insert the URL into the Server URL Text Box, following the structure given below for false-color visualization, and then click OK:
- In the Catalog pane, click Servers.
- Double click on the Entire Catalog on api.planet.com.wmts.
- Click the WMTS service and drag and drop it onto the map.
To add a WMTS layer to ArcGIS 10.X Desktop:
- Launch ArcGIS 10.X Desktop.
- Click Add data or in the Catalog window, double-click GIS Servers.
- Click Add WMTS Server to make a new connection.
- Insert the URL into the URL Text Box following the structure provided below for false-color visualization, and then click 'Get Layers':
- Click OK.
- In the Catalog pane, click GIS Servers.
- Double click on the Entire Catalog on api.planet.com.
- Click the WMTS service and drag and drop it onto the Data View.
