Note on NITF 2.1 File Format Limitations
The NITF 2.1 file format has known limitations when handling large files. Specifically, orders containing image data totaling 1,000,000,000 bytes (1 GB) or more may fail to process properly. To avoid processing issues, it is recommended not to use this tool for composite images or full SkySat collections.
For those needing to apply NITF conversion to large files, an alternative approach is to download the TIFF product files. You can then convert them to NITF using commercial or open-source software (such as GDAL), where you can select options like JPEG2000 compression for processing.
