- I bought Planet for my team (you're the Account Admin): go to Account Admins.
- Someone invited me (you're a team member): go to Invited users.
Account Admins: 5 steps after you purchase
1. Open the Account Manager
Go to insights.planet.com/account. You can also get there from the Planet Insights Platform homepage or the top-left navigation menu.
2. Check your purchase
Open My Plan and Products. Under My Products, confirm your products are listed with the quota and validity dates you expect.
3. Create a workspace
Open the Workspaces tab, click Create workspace, enter a name and confirm. Use one workspace per team or project whose usage you want to track separately.
Note: If you don't see a Workspaces tab, your account doesn't use workspaces. Skip steps 3 and 5.
4. Invite your team
- Open the Users tab and click INVITE NEW USER.
- Enter each user's email address. Click + to add more people, or upload a CSV file of email addresses to invite a large group.
- Click INVITE.
- Add the users to the right workspace. A user can be in only one workspace at a time.
Invitations expire after 14 days. You can resend or revoke them under Pending invitations. Your plan sets the maximum number of users.
5. Allocate quota to the workspace (don't skip this)
Your team can't use anything until you do this. New quota goes to your account, not to a workspace.
- Open Quota management, or click Allocate next to an unassigned product in My Products.
- Choose your customer account as the source, then choose the product, the destination workspace and the amount.
- Check the summary and confirm.
For credit-based packages: allocate both the data product and the Monitoring Credits to the workspace. The workspace needs both before it can use the product.
For product rules and troubleshooting, see Just purchased? Allocate your quota to a workspace before you start.
Invited users: 4 steps to get started
1. Accept your invitation
Open the invitation email from Planet and accept it within 14 days. If it has expired, ask your Account Admin to resend it.
2. Check your profile
In the Account Manager (insights.planet.com/account), go to Settings > User Settings to:
- Check your role (Admin or Member).
- Update your name and country.
- Copy your User ID. You'll need it if you contact support.
3. Get your API key (if you use Planet APIs)
Your API key is in Settings > User Settings.
Warning: Never share your API key. It signs in as you, so anyone who has it can use your quota and access your data.
4. Check that you have quota
Open the Usage tab. You should see quota bars for your workspace. If there's no quota, or you get quota errors, your Account Admin probably hasn't allocated quota to your workspace yet. Send them this article on allocating quota.
Recommended for everyone: turn on quota alerts
Go to Account > Notifications to get alerts at 50%, 90% and 100% of your quota, in the app, by email or both. Notifications appear under the bell icon in the top-right corner.
