Checking your usage and remaining balance

You can see how much of your allocation you have used, and how much remains, from your Planet account. What you see depends on which pricing model your plan uses.

Which applies to you

Your plan is shown in your Planet account. Plans on the current packages meter usage in monitoring credits. Plans bought before the change meter usage as download quota in square kilometres, with separate quotas for tile views and tasking.

If your plan uses monitoring credits

Go to your Planet account and open your plans. From there you can check:

  • Plan status, plan ID and access dates
  • Your monitoring credit balance, and how much of your allocation has been consumed
  • A downloadable usage report covering a period you choose

Planet recommends checking at the end of the month to see how much of your allocation has been used.

Note: usage can take up to 24 hours to appear in reports, so recent activity may not be reflected immediately.

If your plan uses download quota (sq km)

Applies to plans bought before Planet moved to monitoring credits.

  1. Navigate to your Planet account.
  2. Select All Plans from the left side panel.
  3. Use the Downloads, Streaming, Tasking, or Planetary Variables + ARPS tabs to navigate to the plan you wish to review.
  4. From here you can check the status, plan ID, access dates, and view quota bars for tiles, tasking and downloads, or generate and download a report into your tasking usage patterns. plan view.png

You can also check your tile view quota and how much remaining budget you have from your Planet Account page. Planet recommends that you check at the end of the month to see how much of your quota is used.

Note: usage may take up to 24 hours to be reflected in reports.
