Updating saved searches in QGIS

If you created saved searches previously, you might need to upgrade them.

  1. At the top of the Planet Imagery Search pane, select Load a saved search.
The Load a saved search option at the top of the search pane
  2. Select a saved search from the drop-down. A message warns you if a search contains any legacy item types. Legacy searches are read-only, and you must update them before you can modify them. When you are prompted to update the search, select Update Search.

  3. After you update a search, QGIS saves it automatically with the new search parameters. The following table shows how historical searches are converted.

4-band PlanetScope ScenePlanetScope Scene with near-infrared (NIR) filter applied

After July 31, 2024, saved searches for these third-party dataset item types (Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2 L1C) no longer provide data.

Note: Searches are inclusive of scenes that include additional bands. For example, a search for scenes with a near-infrared band includes both 4-band and 8-band data, because both contain near-infrared bands. To search exclusively for 4-band data, use the Instrument Filter.
