What is the different between Planet Scope 4 Band analytic and analytic_dn asset?

    Hi Giang,

Broadly speaking, radiometric calibration is applied to correct for errors in the DN product. These errors mainly being due to the difference in energy calculated by the sensors on board is different to the actual energy emitted or reflected at ground surface level. There are a variety of contributing factors to this such as azimuth angle, elevation etc.

However, the analytic_dn product from Planet already has a lot of these errors corrected for. Basically, the analtyic_dn product is our sensor values with known sensor defects/etc corrected for. It's still sensor values (12-bit, different units in each band), but with most corrections applied. The analytic product applies the per-band corrections to shift the values into something that's directly convertible to radiance values -- watts per sq m.

I hope this clears things up. Let me know if you need any further clarifications.

    I understand it now.
