NDVI - QGIS

Hello everyone:

I am a complete beginner in the use of GIS software and satellite imagery.

I am trying to get the NDVI index using QGIS. I think I have it but I need to confirm some doubts.
First I downloaded an image called aaaammdd_hhmmss_3B_AnalyticMS_SR and then I separated bands 1, 2, 3 and 4. When I got each band I calculated the NDVI index using bands 3 (Red?) and 4 (NIR). I assumed this because I read in this link https://developers.planet.com/docs/apis/data/sensors/ that the image I downloaded is composed of 4 bands and (1 -> Blue; 2 -> green; 3 -> Red; 4 -> NIR) but I consider that it is not clear in the document.

Can anyone help me? Is my approach the right one?

Thanks in advance!

I copy this information in the discussion, maybe someone will find it useful.

    PS2:

    band 1: blue
    band 2: green
    band 3: red
    band 4: NIR
