The Data API is also designed to facilitate the download of metadata exclusively from Planet's extensive imagery catalog, through a RESTful API interface. This functionality supports the programmatic searching of Planet's imagery by leveraging metadata.

To obtain the full data set, including images, it is necessary to utilize the Planet Orders API. Be aware that accessing this service will result in charges to your account quota.
