Why Are Certain Vessels Missed, Even Though They Look Identical to Others Detected?

The Analytic Feeds consist of multiple layers that process information to deliver precise outputs. It starts with capturing raw data from satellite imagery and data, then undergoes a pipeline for filtering to remove noise and improve quality, ensuring its API readiness for analysis. Next, advanced algorithms detect and classify objects within the imagery, such as vessels on the sea. The final layer generates bounding boxes around these detected objects, providing clear outlines for easy tracking and analysis.

Several factors can influence the output of the analytic feeds. Variations in vessel color, caused by different paints, lighting conditions, or materials, are considered during object detection. However, environmental conditions such as haze and cloud cover can affect the visibility and clarity of the imagery.
