Planet Road Detection products are generated from Planet Mosaics. Due to variations, gaps, or inconsistencies in the underlying imagery, some portions of roads may not be detected in all areas.
Detection accuracy can also be affected by:
- Road width and surface type
- Snow or cloud cover
- Shadows and environmental conditions
- Mosaic alignment and image quality
In general:
- Roads smaller than approximately 10 meters may be more difficult to detect consistently
- Unpaved roads, tracks, and narrow paths may not always be captured
- Detection quality may vary depending on local imagery conditions and mosaic coverage
