This serves as a short beginner tutorial for adding an area of interest (AOI) to Planet Explorer.
1. Access Planet Explorer here and log in with your credentials.
2. On the right hand side, there is a menu for several action, including an icon for adding or uploading an AOI. 
3. There are several options for creating an AOI within Planet Explorer. The option on the far left allows you to upload a file. The following data formats are allowed: shp, wkt, json, geojson, gpx, kml, dbf, shx, prj, zip.
4. After uploading an AOI, you can go ahead and import it to Planet Explorer. You will automatically be shown imagery over your AOI. Feel free to use different filtering options to fit your search best.
