Overview

The Basic Educational & Research Program grants access to key Planet satellite data, platform tools, and support resources. Below is a breakdown of what is included in your plan—and what isn't.

What’s Included

1. Planet Data

• PlanetScope: Full access with a 30-day temporal delay (30-day withhold applied).

• RapidEye Archives: Access to Ortho Tile and Basic Scene formats for historical data up through March 2020.

• Visual Basemaps: Standard Monthly and Quarterly visual basemaps.

• Surface Reflectance (SR) Basemaps: Monthly SR basemaps for select demonstration areas. (Contact the sales team if you require extended coverage).

2. Platform & Services

• Access Tools: Planet Explorer & Planet APIs

• Learning & Support: Planet University, Planet Help Center, and the Planet Community

• Technical Support: Standard assistance with platform functionality.

Note on Technical Support: Support does not cover custom code debugging or code-writing assistance.

What’s Excluded

The following features and high-resolution data products are not included in the Basic Educational & Research tier:

• SkySat high-resolution imagery

• Tasking Dashboard (on-demand satellite tasking)
