What search criteria can I use for finding scenes?

The Planet API and other tools allow you to search for scenes based on metadata.

Two of the most useful searches are area of interest (AOI) and time of interest (TOI), which let you search for scenes based on their location on Earth and the date that our satellite captured the image.

In addition, we allow users to search based on a long list of criteria.
Our API documentation lists all the different attributes that can be searched.

A single search can combine several search terms at once, so that you can find, for example, all scenes in California that were taken in the last week that have a cloud cover of less than 10%.

To make searching easier, we also allow you save a set of search criteria as a workspace.
