What is the difference between an analytic, visual, and basic scene?

PlanetScope, SkySat, and RapidEye imagery is available as orthorectified (Visual and Analytic) products and un-orthorectified Basic scenes.

Visual

Orthorectified, 3-band (RGB), 8-bit GeoTIFF that has been color-corrected and is readily usable in most visual analysis and display applications.

Analytic

Orthorectified, 4-band (multispectral), 16-bit GeoTIFF that has no color-correction applied and is designed for analytical and scientific applications.

Basic

No orthorectification or color-curve applied, 16-bit GeoTIFF that requires processing before it is suitable for analytical and scientific applications.
